1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of KoboVault, a digital financial services platform operated by Kobo Vault Technology Limited and its affiliated Kobo Superapp companies (“KoboVault”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By creating an account or using KoboVault, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
You must:
- Meet the applicable minimum legal age requirements.
- Provide valid identification and information when required.
- Maintain only accounts permitted under our policies.
- Use the Service for lawful purposes.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account where required by law, regulation, security requirements, or our internal policies.
3. Your KoboVault Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your:
- Login credentials
- OTPs
- App PIN
- Transaction PIN
- Transfer PIN
- Authentication information
You must never share your OTP or PIN with another person.
KoboVault will never ask you to disclose your confidential PIN through an unofficial channel.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you promptly report unauthorized access or transactions.
4. Wallets and Financial Services
KoboVault may provide or facilitate services including:
- Digital wallets
- Money transfers
- Bank transfers
- Deposits and withdrawals
- Payments
- Virtual cards
- Currency-related services
- Peer-to-peer transfers
- Other financial services introduced in the future
Some services may be provided through licensed third-party financial institutions, payment processors, banks, card networks, or other regulated service providers.
Availability of specific services may depend on your location, verification status, account tier, applicable laws, and third-party provider availability.
5. KYC and Identity Verification
To access certain services, you may be required to complete Know Your Customer (“KYC”) and identity verification procedures.
You agree to provide truthful and accurate information and valid documentation.
KoboVault may use authorized third-party verification providers to verify your identity.
We may refuse, restrict, or suspend services where required to satisfy KYC, AML, fraud-prevention, sanctions, or regulatory obligations.
6. Transactions
You authorize KoboVault and its relevant payment partners to process transactions that you initiate through the platform.
Before confirming a transaction, you are responsible for checking:
- Recipient details
- Account details
- Amount
- Currency
- Transaction charges
- Other displayed transaction information
Transactions may be subject to processing times, limits, fees, security checks, and regulatory requirements.
Where a transaction cannot be completed, we may reverse or return funds where permitted and appropriate.
7. Transaction Limits and Fees
KoboVault may impose transaction, wallet, transfer, withdrawal, or account limits.
Applicable fees will be displayed within the application or communicated through our official channels.
We may change fees and limits where permitted by applicable law. Where required, we will provide appropriate notice.
8. Fraud, Money Laundering and Illegal Activities
You must not use KoboVault for:
- Fraud
- Money laundering
- Terrorist financing
- Scams
- Unauthorized payments
- Illegal transactions
- Sanctions violations
- Financing unlawful activities
- Any activity prohibited by applicable law
We may monitor transactions and account activity for security, fraud prevention, AML, regulatory, and compliance purposes.
We may delay, reject, restrict, freeze, or report transactions or accounts where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect the platform and its users.
9. Account Suspension
We may temporarily suspend or restrict your account if:
- We detect suspicious activity.
- Your account may have been compromised.
- Information provided is inaccurate.
- You violate these Terms.
- We are legally required to do so.
- A regulatory or security investigation is required.
Where legally permitted, we will provide information regarding restrictions placed on your account.
10. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your KoboVault account through the application’s account settings.
For security purposes, account deletion may require:
- Account authentication.
- OTP verification.
- App PIN verification.
- Confirmation of your intention to permanently delete the account.
- Transfer PIN verification.
- Confirmation that your wallet balance is ₦0.00.
An account with a remaining balance may not be eligible for immediate deletion until the balance has been properly withdrawn, transferred, or otherwise resolved.
Certain information may be retained after account deletion where required by law, regulation, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, or other legitimate legal obligations.
11. Third-Party Services
KoboVault may integrate with banks, payment processors, identity-verification providers, card providers, telecommunications providers, cloud infrastructure providers, and other third parties.
Your use of certain services may also be subject to those providers’ terms and policies.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your account and information.
However, no internet-connected system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You must immediately report suspected unauthorized access, lost credentials, or suspicious transactions through official KoboVault support channels.
13. Intellectual Property
All KoboVault software, branding, logos, designs, content, trademarks, and related intellectual property belong to KoboVault or its respective licensors.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit KoboVault without authorization.
14. Prohibited Use
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to KoboVault.
- Circumvent security controls.
- Introduce malicious software.
- Interfere with the Service.
- Create fraudulent accounts.
- Impersonate another person.
- Use automated systems to abuse the platform.
- Exploit technical vulnerabilities.
- Use KoboVault for unlawful activities.
15. Service Availability
We aim to keep KoboVault available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Services may temporarily become unavailable because of:
- Maintenance
- Security incidents
- Network failures
- Banking or payment-provider outages
- Internet failures
- Regulatory requirements
- Events beyond our reasonable control
17. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, KoboVault will not be responsible for losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including failures caused by third-party financial institutions, payment networks, telecommunications providers, internet providers, or unauthorized access resulting from your failure to protect your credentials.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Updated Terms will be made available through KoboVault. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, where permitted by law.
19. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection or regulatory requirements that apply to the relevant service.
